Upon entering our office, our receptionist will welcome you as a new member.
We will request that you complete our new patient intake forms. This paperwork provides us with your relevant health history and information on your condition and your consent to a chiropractic examination.
Next, you will have a consultation with one of our Chiropractor to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for the Chiropractor to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals.
After your consultation, your chiropractor will perform a complete examination, testing your reflexes, strength and flexibility. Other standard neurological, orthopaedic, postural, and physical tests will be performed if needed.
Depending on your specific condition, we may need to refer you for X-rays. These images will help us develop the most effective treatment plan for you, or alert us of any serious spinal conditions. Not everyone is a candidate for X-ray as we strive to uphold the current guidelines for minimising radiation exposure levels.
Report of Findings
Once the information is collected and examinations are performed, our Chiropractor will give you a detailed report of all findings and answer any questions you have including:
- What are your treatment goals?
- How often do you need to come in?
- What results can I expect from treatment?
After reviewing your health history, goals, and examining your spine and any X-rays, the chiropractor will discuss recommendations and notify you if your condition requires cooperative care with other providers.
At the conclusion of this initial appointment, you can choose to undergo your first treatment. This may include a series of spinal adjustments, physical therapy, and/or soft tissue therapy. Treatment is interactive, so you can express concerns about the different styles of treatment anytime.
The first visit is about 30 min long.
